Fizz Boat Builder Kit can be purchased for 1L at the TYC Boat Store
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dex/136/60/25

With the release of the Boat Builders Kit (powered by the script Fizz engine) NOW anyone that can work with prims and textures can build their own boat around such an advanced Kernel of cool scripts, using the stunning Fizz 3 engine. Now many people can achieve a sailboat which is full of technical progress, and state of the art scripts.

We want to celebrate this WONDERFUL advancement in letting people create boats in SL and the incredible versatility of the script engine to adapt itself to any size and type boat

Each month on the 15th for a few days, we will hold a progress show where each entered contestant will display their boat they are working on and ribbons will be given out in each class and each division for

Best Looking low prim boat (32 prims and under)
Best looking attached wearable boat (over 32 prims)
Most Accurate working boat based on Class from real life
Best Over All – First month (first time entry)
Best Over All – Improved (ribbon will be given starting month 2 and based on improvement from the previous month)

On December 15th – the final show of the year Final Ribbons will be awarded – the boats will be judged on the highest quality for the year and cash prizes will be awarded. For builders who build from scratch the biggest prize will be a lot of people will want to buy their boat. in the Adapted category where their creation won't be re-sellable, a big cash prize will be given

There will be two divisions that people can work from

A) Building from scratch using the Fizz Kit and its derivative components. The builder / participant is expected that all additional prims (not in the kit) are created by themselves . No outside purchased hulls shapes or sails are allowed. The textures used are either made by themselves or are open sourced full perm textures available to all boat builders (not purchased textures). This is for the advanced boat modeler.

B) Adapting and "tricking out" a boat. Here we want to see people take parts of other boats or purchased parts and combine their own creativity to come up with some amazing creations

Classifications that builders can enter in, either adapting or building from scratch

"Dinghy"
"Surfboard"
"Hydrofoil"
"Multihull"
"Keelboat"
"Gaff Rigged/Workboats"

If you go the attached prim route no boats over 256 prims

The whole idea is to get an environment where people aren't afraid to start and works in progress are encouraged.

Need a place to work on yor boat? Come to Tradewinds where all sailors are welcome to work on their boats, just clean up after yourself and be kind. In fact we would LOVE to see you working on your boats with us and other builders

M1sha Dallin has offered her land in Dex as the new site for the yacht club and it faces protected water to the south on the mainland which offers amazing opportunities both to racing and cursing. We are doubly excited because M1sha is such an important part of the Tradewinds family

The Long Awaited Flying Fizz 3.0 Released

Fizz 3 Presentation by Mothgirl Dibou

First fizz 3 race at WYC - Prestart

First fizz 3 race at WYC - Start - Takeshi Shnyder leading the pack

Massy Johin wins first Fizz 3 race

Mark this date, Friday March 13th, 2009, a date that will be important to history as on this date Mothgirl's Flying Fizz 3.0 was released to the public and most appropriately to the community of sailing racers that are the most active in SL at the moment -- our Japanese bothers and sisters. The boat was unveiled at Waypoint yacht Club.

Directly after Mothgirl Dibou's presentation (all in Japanese, boat builders sometimes turn out to have some hidden talents ) Taku Raymaker hosted the first Fizz 3 races.
Massy Johin confidently won race 1, beating the rising star of Fizzing for the last 2 months, Miwha Masala, on the line. Toraba Magic followed them at a short distance.

In race 2 Massy showed this first win was not just a lucky one and we may hear more from him: he decisively beat the fleet by more than a full minute. Miwha was 2nd again, Yuu Nakamichi 3rd.

The Release of the VOJ 70 Volvo Ocean Raceboat from WildWind

Anouncing the release of the new VOJ 70 Volvo Ocean Raceboat from WildWind. You can see some of the details on the pics. The gennaker shape is in sculpted prims, the great hull and mast detailing from Corry Kamachi.

The boat is NOW AVAILABLE att eh TYC docks

Just like the RL one it has a rotating keel too, with 5 control ''lights'' at the back of the boat so you can see what position it is in.

Nice is also that it uses an autorezzer.. which makes you feel you step into the boat rather than on a poseball and wear it.

Scripting is smooth and it causes very little to no lag. The boat can be both hud- and gesture controlled. The windshadow system is similar to the WildWind AJ-C2, which was extensively tested by Disisme Misfit, Liv Leigh and several others.

TYC Race Directors Proved Themselves

Liv Leigh: (Saved Wed Feb 04 08:32:06 2009) hi tasha, this is a pic someone made at Hans Zinneman's Matchracing Ladder Trophy ceremony. TYC race directors proved themselves good match racers in the 2008 season. At the end of the season at January 31st 2009, Liv Leigh took home 1st place in the ACA, ACC, Flying Fizz and Flying Tako classes, winning 4 out of 6 match racing ladders. Also the Skutsje ladder was won by one of our race directors: Ahjep Kattun, the ''skutsje king'' took that one home
